HUNDREDS TURN OUT FOR LEE WHARF APARTMENTS OPENING

More than 400 groups of prospective buyers converged on Lee Wharf, Newcastle, at the weekend for the launch of 13 luxury harbourfront apartments.
The opening drew crowds of more than 500 on Saturday and 350 on Sunday with offers taken on well over 50 per cent of the properties.
Selling agent Robert Pignataro of Strathfield Partners said he’d expected a high level of interest but had been overwhelmed by the response.
“Clearly there is huge pent-up demand in Newcastle for quality apartments that represent good value for money,” said Mr Pignataro.
“The Lee Wharf apartments were completed in 2009 and this final release has been discounted from the original listing price. We saw plenty of confidence here today in the Newcastle real estate market and people know when they’re getting a good deal.
“There is nothing to compare with this offering in Sydney where you simply cannot get a home on the water with views like this for under $1 million.”
Three new display apartments were styled by in-demand interior designer Tim Leveson for the new release.
The 13 apartments, a mix of two and three bedroom plus study homes, all have big harbour views, large open living areas spilling to expansive balconies, two secure cars spaces and luxury finishes.
They are part of the Honeysuckle development that has transformed Newcastle’s harbour precinct into a thriving living, entertainment and commercial precinct.
