Travel bible Lonely Planet has listed the destination in its Best in Travel 2011 book, which picks the top trends, destinations and experiences for the coming year.
Albania was rated number one in the top 10 countries for next year, thanks to its azure beaches, cuisine, heritage sites, nightlife and affordability. It was followed by Brazil and the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it African archipelago of Cape Verdi, which have been attracting more European winter-sun tourists.
